History of AJC Sandblasting

AJC Sandblasting was founded in 1980 in Long Beach, California.  The father and son team of Jack and Alvin Charleston formed the company after having worked many years for various industrial sandblasting and coating firms in California and Arizona.

As longtime residents of Southern California, they recognized the need for, and the opportunity to serve the sandblasting and coating needs of the Petrochemical Industry and other process industries in the area.

 With the constant need for corrosion control in Southern California, AJC Sandblasting quickly established itself as a dependable company that could be counted on for any and all issues related to the industrial corrosion environment, including:  Abrasive Blasting, Industrial Coating, Specialty Coatings and Linings, Lead Abatement, and Fiberglass.

In 1989, Jack Charleston retired from the partnership and in 1990 AJC Sandblasting was incorporated in the state of California. Alvin Charleston assumed the primary leadership role with the intent of growing the firm and broadening its customer base.  With an unprecedented approach to doing business, Alvin soon became know in the industry as a square shooter, who always went the extra mile to see that his customer’s expectations were met. Unfortunately in November of 1998, Alvin Charleston passed away suddenly at the age of 44.  In short order, necessary changes took effect at AJC Sandblasting with Alvin's wife, Lisa Charleston, assuming the position of President of AJC Sandblasting Inc. She appointed from the ranks of the existing work force capable men and women to shoulder the various responsibilities of doing business and who were cut from the same cloth as her husband when it came to doing a good job at a fair price and in a safe way.

 Today, after 30 years of continuous business in the Industrial Sandblasting and Coating Industry, AJC Sandblasting Inc. still believes in being a dependable company for ALL of our customers.  We are fully capable of handling all of your sandblasting and coating needs.  We take pride in our workforce making safe decisions everyday and are determined to create a lasting favorable impression with our customers.
